As mentioned I run a financial practice and like most planners, we only serve clients within our local region. In my case, Maryland, DC, and Virginia.

I'm just starting to use Overture's Local Match program which ends up showing my Pay per click listings on Yahoo's Local Search Engines. There isn't much competition in this arena because most financial professionals aren't that web marketing savvy like moo :)

Are there any other good internet directories or local search engines that I should consider as well for my website.

And oh by the way. Please no recommendations on SEO for my site and optimizing properly for Google and such because my website is frame based. I wish it was different but my broker dealer chose a vendor that works on frame based technology. Actually, most of the major financial website vendors work on frame based technology, so it is what it is for me.

Although for some strange reason, I've found other frame based financial websites, provided by the same vendor, on search engines like Google too. So perhaps it is possible to get listed on search engines even if my site is frame based???

Thank you for your kind comments on our forum. I hope you will recommend us to others.

Some information in frames can be indexed, but I usually recommend people avoid them because it is difficult for most search engines to fully index the site.

Since you are aware of this, you have wisely been focusing on other techniques. However, it can't hurt to submit your site manually to some of the major search engines.

Here are some thoughts on local directories.

Yahoo has a good regional directory - visit http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request

Open Directory - http://www.dmoz.org/add.html

Citysearch - http://www.citysearch.com/

Are you a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, BBB or other organization? If so, make sure they link to your site.

I think advertising on Google for your local area plus keywords would be very cost effective as well.
